Fish in Garlic & Tomatillo Sauce

  • 1 1/4 lbs. white fish fillets, such as tilapia, bass, grouper or snapper, cut into 4 pieces
  • 1/2 cup prepared salsa verde
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeds removed and chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsps. Crisco® Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 4 to 5 tsps. minced garlic
  • Rice and refried beans
preparation-directions
  1. PLACE fish fillets in medium glass dish. Combine salsa verde, jalapeño pepper, lime juice, cilantro and salt. Pour over fish fillets. Cover. Marinate in refrigerator 20 minutes.
  2. HEAT oil in large sauce pan over medium heat. Saute garlic in oil for 30 seconds. Add marinated fish fillets. Discard remaining marinade. Cook 8 to 10 minutes on medium-high heat or until fish is done, turning once. Serve with rice and refried beans, if desired.
